A Summer to Remember

Crieff's Inaugural Summer Festival ☀️

The Crieff Summer Festival (9th-16th August 2025), a new event supported by Perth and Kinross Council, was a huge success. The festival proved to be a key part of the Experience Crieff strategy, which aims to make Crieff a go-to destination.

What Happened?

The week-long festival drew hundreds of attendees and received great feedback from both locals and visitors. The festival's main goals were to offer a variety of free activities for the local community and to bring new visitors into the town centre.

For the first time in a while, Crieff's Square was "alive" with activities. The event featured live folk music, art workshops, wellness sessions, and children's entertainment, including a top-rated Kids Silent Disco.

The Impact

The festival had a clear social and economic impact. Locals felt a "real buzz" and enjoyed the chance to connect with friends, family, and neighbours. Parents especially loved the free children's activities, which provided a fun end to the school holidays.

For local businesses, the festival offered a boost, bringing people into the town centre. One business owner noted a "definite uplift in sales" during the festival and said they look forward to more events like it. The festival also succeeded in attracting visitors from across Scotland and beyond, showing that the marketing efforts reached the festival's target audience.

A local resident, who has lived in Crieff for nine years, said the festival showed what's possible for a town they've always loved but felt was "missing a bit of dynamism and energy".

Looking Ahead

The Experience Crieff team is already planning for 2026 to build on this year's success. Sharon Jack from Experience Crieff said the team was "overwhelmed by the success" and the incredible feedback. She added that they're excited to start planning next year's festival to make it "even bigger and better and thanks everyone who came to the festival this year".

Congratulations to Sharon & Karen, the gifted and indispensible June McEwan and all those other helpers who've made the inaugural week such a tremendous success. Leading up to the incomparable Highland Gathering, it's become an overnight annual MUST.
