Crieff and Strathearn is one of Scotland’s great food and drink regions. The Crieff Food & Drink Festival exists to prove it.
Every autumn, the town opens up - markets, masterclasses, special menus, tastings, distillery evenings - and the producers, makers and independent businesses that make this region what it is step into the spotlight.
Whether you’re driving up from Edinburgh for the weekend, exploring Perthshire for the first time, or a local who wants to actually get out and enjoy what’s on the doorstep, the festival is built around you.
THE FESTIVAL'S STORY
Crieff has been a market town for centuries. Drovers brought cattle through Strathearn from across the Highlands, and the town grew around the trade - the exchange of goods, the gathering of people, the business of food. That history didn’t go anywhere.
The Crieff Food & Drink Festival picks up that thread. It brings together the independent retailers, regional producers, local chefs and makers who define what Strathearn tastes like - and gives them a stage. The goal is simple: put Crieff on Scotland’s food map, bring visitors into the town, and give locals a reason to rediscover what’s right in front of them.
It’s organised by Experience Crieff, whose job is to make Crieff thrive. Every market stall, every masterclass, every special menu serves that purpose.

The Artisan Food & Drink Market
Scottish producers from across the region - charcuterie, cheese, small-batch baking, craft beer, spirits from boutique distilleries. The kind of market where you go for a look and come back carrying more than you planned.
Masterclasses & demos
Local chefs, bakers and specialists running hands-on sessions - shellfish preparation, traditional Scottish baking, drinks masterclasses. The people who know this region’s food best, sharing what they know.
Town-wide menus & dining deals
Cafes, bistros, tapas bars and distilleries across Crieff running festival menus, tasting flights and limited-edition dishes for the week. Some of them are worth the trip on their own.
Tastings & special evenings
Guest chef dinners, craft beer tap takeovers, cocktail masterclasses, whisky and confectionery pairings. The evenings tend to be the ones people talk about afterwards.
