EXPERIENCE OUR HERITAGE

Crieff’s heritage lives and breathes - in the rhythm of the Highland Gathering, the spectacular gardens at Drummond Castle, the threads of over 500 tartans at ScotlandShop, and the carefully kept stories inside Crieff & Strathearn Museum and Inerpeffrey Library. From proud clan traditions to everyday life through the ages, this is a town that knows where it’s come from. Step inside, dress the part, and discover the people, places and traditions that make Crieff proudly and unmistakably Scottish.
Drover's Tryst
The Drovers’ Tryst Walking Festival is Crieff’s way of tipping its hat to the hardy folk who once led cattle through these hills, and having a brilliant time while we’re at it. Whether you’re here for the history, the hilltops or just the post-walk pint, the Tryst is the perfect way to experience the landscape (and the spirit) of Crieff.

Crieff Highland Gathering
The Crieff Highland Gathering isn’t just an event, it’s the beating heart of our summer. Think soaring pipes, flying cabers, swirling kilts and a park full of cheer. Held every August, it’s where locals and visitors come together to celebrate Scottish tradition with a whole lot of pride (and maybe a little bit of muscle). It’s Crieff at its boldest and best.
ScotlandShop
ScotlandShop in Crieff isn’t just about fabric, it’s about finding your roots and wearing them well. With hundreds of tartans to choose from, the team will help you discover your clan, your colours, and maybe even your next sofa covering. Whether you’re going full kilt or just fancy a flash of heritage, this is where tradition gets a personal touch, and a warm Scottish welcome.

Drummond Castle Gardens
Step through the gates at Drummond Castle and it’s like walking into a postcard - all perfectly clipped hedges, sweeping avenues, and views that go on for miles. These are some of the most spectacular gardens in Europe, with just the right mix of grandeur and fairytale charm. Bring a camera, take your time, and soak up the drama.
Innerpeffray Library
Tucked away in the Perthshire countryside, Innerpeffray is Scotland’s oldest lending library, and it’s pure magic. Old oak floors, centuries-old books, and shelves full of stories you won’t find anywhere else. It’s the kind of place that fills you with wonder, makes you wander slowly and fall a little bit in love with history.

Crieff & Strathearn Museum
At the old town clock, Crieff & Strathearn Museum is where local stories come to life. Our small museum houses new exhibitions every year and fun activities to keep the children busy. It’s a place to explore the people, places, and moments that have shaped this wee corner of Scotland. Small but mighty, and full of heart.
