Crieff gears up for a Summer to remember.
There’s an energy building in Crieff. You can feel it in the conversations on the High Street, in the buzz around local businesses, and in the plans being laid for what’s shaping up to be one of the town’s most exciting summers in years.
Across three major events this August, Crieff will showcase its creativity, welcome new audiences, and reconnect locals with the things that make this town special. These aren’t just standalone celebrations - they’re part of a growing movement to reimagine what Crieff can offer to residents and visitors alike, all while staying true to its roots.

(8–10 August)
With the theme “Local Heroes”, the festival celebrates two of the town’s most iconic exports - actors Ewan McGregor and Denis Lawson - through a weekend of screenings, talks and workshops at Crieff Hydro and Strathearn Arts. The lineup blends nostalgia with inspiration, offering everything from Local Hero and Moulin Rouge to two epic Star Wars features. There’s even a chance for young people to make and screen their own films - planting seeds for Crieff’s next generation of creatives.

(9–16 August)
A week-long celebration designed to bring people together and put community at the centre of the story. Each morning kicks off with free family activities in a marquee in James Square - from arts and crafts to magic shows, silent discos, dance workshops, and creative reuse sessions with Remake Scotland. Afternoons bring a slower rhythm, with folk bands performing live each day and Heartland FM broadcasting on location - filling the square with music, laughter, and easy summer atmosphere.

(Sunday 17 August)
One of Scotland's most loved Highland Gatherings. From pipe bands and heavy events to Highland dancing, music and family fun, it’s a celebration that speaks to tradition, strength, and identity. For many, it’s the beating heart of Crieff’s summer calendar - and a powerful reminder of what lies at the very heart of our town.
Together, these events offer more than just entertainment. They represent a shift - in ambition, in energy, and in how Crieff presents itself to the wider world. Locals are rediscovering their town with fresh pride. Visitors are beginning to see Crieff not just as a place to pass through, but as a place to stop, stay, and come back to. And behind it all, there’s a team working hard to shape a sustainable future for the town - one rooted in its history, but full of fresh ideas.
This summer, Crieff is showing what it’s capable of. Come and be part of it.
