Crieff town centre is set to receive a colourful summer makeover as local primary school pupils take part in a community planting initiative on Tuesday 16 June.
Organised by Experience Crieff and supported by Bailie Rhona Brock, the planting event will see pupils from local schools working alongside community partners to fill the town's planters with vibrant summer bedding plants. The activity will take place in James Square from 1.30pm before the planters are positioned throughout the town centre.
The project has been made possible thanks to the support of Klondyke Garden Centre, which has generously donated the plants, as well as Perth & Kinross Council, Crieff in Leaf and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, whose team will assist with placing the planters around the town.
The initiative aims to enhance the appearance of Crieff, create a welcoming environment for residents and visitors, and encourage young people to take pride in their local community.
A spokesperson for Experience Crieff said:
"We are delighted to be working with local schools and our community partners on this project. The planters make a real difference to the appearance of the town, and it is wonderful to see young people getting involved in helping to keep Crieff looking its best. We are extremely grateful to everyone who has supported the initiative."
Klondyke Garden Centre, which has both Crieff Garden Centre and Crieff Food Co. based in the town, is pleased to support the initiative.
A spokesperson for Klondyke Garden Centre said:
"We're delighted to support the planter project by donating plants to help make Crieff bloom. It's great to be part of something that brings colour, greenery and a real sense of community to the town, and we hope residents and visitors alike enjoy watching the planters flourish over the months ahead. It's lovely for us to help add a little extra colour and help Crieff continue to bloom for everyone to enjoy."
