Celebrating 15 Years of Remake: Small Actions, Lasting Impact

Fifteen years ago, a simple idea took shape in Crieff - that by reusing, repairing and sharing, we could reduce waste and strengthen our community.

Today, Remake stands as a powerful example of what that idea can become.

Over the past 15 years, Remake has grown into a valued part of life in Crieff and Strathearn. What started with a focus on reuse has evolved into something much bigger - a place where people come together to learn new skills, support one another, and take practical steps towards more sustainable living.

From its Scrapstore and Furniture Reuse to its Tool Library and Workshops, Remake has supported thousands of people - making resources more accessible while helping to shift how we think about waste and value.

But what really defines Remake is its community.

It's built on the time, energy and generosity of volunteers, staff and supporters who believe in doing things differently - and in doing them together. That collective effort has created something that goes far beyond services. A space that is welcoming, practical and rooted in shared purpose.

Reaching 15 years is no small milestone. It reflects consistency, commitment and a clear sense of direction - all grounded in the needs of the community it serves.

And as we look ahead, that role feels more important than ever.

Remake reminds us that meaningful change doesn’t need to be complicated. It starts with simple actions - repairing instead of replacing, sharing instead of buying, and working together to create something better.

Fifteen years on, that idea still holds strong.
